Join our Men’s Ministry for our 2017 Men’s Retreat. We will spend 3 days away, seeking God and sharpening each other, all while enjoying the exciting activities the camp ground has to offer. Boating, paint balling, horseback riding and other sports will be offered throughout the weekend. You don’t want to miss this retreat as it will be a powerful time in God’s presence as we seek His face together. Can’t wait to see you there!

There is a $50 non refundable fee for adults and a $25 non refundable fee for youth ages 12-18.

Retreat registration is $195 for adults.  Youth registration is $95.

September 28-September 30.

We will depart in shuttle buses at 7am on Thursday, 9/28 and return Saturday evening.

Men’s Retreat FAQ

How will we get to the Ranch? Included in the cost of the retreat is transportation. The men will ride in a coach bus to and from the camp. We will leave from and arrive back at Chicago Tabernacle.

What time are we leaving/returning? Registration opens at 5:30am on Thursday, September 28. Buses will leave promptly at 7:00am. We will return to Chicago Tabernacle approximately 7:00pm on Saturday, September 30.

Where will I be staying and what do I need to take with me? We will be staying in cabins in the Northern woods of Wisconsin. All cabins are heated and have running water.

Where do I park? We strongly suggest getting dropped off at the church due to limited parking available.  If you need to park your vehicle, parking will be available at our Lot A at 3249 N Kilpatrick Ave.

What about meals at the Ranch? The cost of registration includes all meals at the Ranch.  The cafeteria also has coffee, water, tea and the makings for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches available 24 hours a day.

What about meals on the road to and from the Ranch? Please bring money as we will be stopping for meals on the road. Snacks and water will be provided during road travel.

What if I have a food allergy or special need? Please inform us if you have any peanut allergies, wheel chair requirements, special medications, doctor orders or information that would be helpful for us to know.

Is there a store on site where I can buy snacks or souvenirs? Yes, there is a Canteen on site to purchase coffee, snacks and souvenirs. Bring extra cash ‐ this is outside the provision for breakfast, lunch and dinner provided in the cost of the retreat.

What is the weather like in White Lake Wisconsin? The temperature will be low to upper 60’s with possible showers. We advise you to bring warm clothing just in case of colder weather.

What activities are available? There is a lot to do at the Silver Birch campgrounds – horseback riding, paintball,trap‐shooting,fishing, basketball, zip‐line, wall climbing, boating, tennis, mini‐golf, and more are all available during any free‐time. A few of these activities require special permissions or additional money:

Fishing: We will be fishing on the Wolf River (WI licenses are required with a trout stamp). You can buy this online. A Great Lake Fishing 2 Day (includes Great Lake Salmon/Trout Stamp) is $14.00 for Nonresident Fishing. Fishermen must bring bait for fishing, fishing pole and tackle.

Firing Range: A FIOD card is required to transport hand guns/riffles. The only handguns allowed on firing range are 9mm and below caliber and for riffles only 22mm allowed. All weapons will be surrendered to Weapons Ministry team for storage and travel at registration.

Do any of the activities require extra cash?

Paintball: $5 per hopper allows over 200 paintballs and guarantees that everyone can join in and experience the heart pumping, adrenaline centered adventure that is paintball. We suggest you bring some clothes for padding as paint ball pellets can be painful!

Trap Shooting: Cost is $5 for 10 shots (includes guns, safety equipment, ammo and clay pigeons).

What if I leave something at the Ranch? Send an email to with a description of the item and where you might have left it. They’ll get back to you as soon as possible after they look for it or let you know if it’s already in their lost items collection. The owner of the item will be responsible for any shipping charges incurred in the safe return of the found item. Due to the large amount of items left on camp grounds, they will only keep found items for two weeks, after which time the items will be donated to charitable organizations or local families in need. More valuable items may be held longer at SBR’s discretion.
