Devotional: The Original Mindset

March 01 2020
Posted by Pastor Toledo

When we accept and live with the knowledge that we are made in God’s image, we also find that we were given dominion by God – the power and authority to act as God’s agents. Being his agent does not mean that we have absolute authority, though – it is delegated – we act on His behalf and  represent Him.

Our mindset must be just that – that we are given dominion and authority – but it is only to act on God’s  behalf as agents of change amongst His creation. Our mindset has to be connected to the image of God and to the agency that God has given us. If the enemy can disconnect us from God, He can separate us from the plan of God and the authority of God.

Questions for Meditation:

  1. What is unique about the dominion that God gave Adam and Eve in creation? In what ways is dominion still applicable to us today?

  2. What is the difference between acting as an agent for God and an agent for ourselves?

  3. How would you describe The Original Mindset in your own words? What is the opposite? When was a time you operated in The Original Mindset, and when is a time that you’ve done the opposite?

  4. Why is it that at times we stop praying for fruitfulness and multiplication? How does this posture change our expectations?

  5. How can you maintain a posture of prayer in this way this week?

  6. What is the difference in walking with the authority of God, and not doing so? How can that change your mindset this week, and how can that change the challenges you might be facing?
