Mission

Our mission is to encourage believers to live purposefully, work fruitfully, and grow consistently. Colossians 1:10 (C1:10) says, "So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God."

Who We Are

C1/10 is a group of adults in our 30’s and 40’s who have set out to live purposefully, work fruitfully, and grow consistently in this stage of our lives. We do this through connecting with one another and building godly relationships. We value the Word of God, and make it priority to reflect and respond to it personally and at every C1/10 gathering.

Becoming Groups

Becoming Groups serve as a place for our church body to gather outside of our normal Sunday and Tuesday services to seek the Lord–deepening our walk–and to connect deeply with one another.

All of our groups gather to discuss the content of the previous Sunday’s sermon. Groups will commit over the course of three months to meeting in various locations through the city.

Meet the Leader

Edgar Rivas was born and raised on the west side of Chicago. After being involved in gangs as a teenager, he decided to leave Chicago and serve his country in the US Marine Corps. After the incidents of 9/11, he served his country again by joining the Department of Homeland Security, serving for 12 years. In 2009 Edgar rededicated his heart to Christ and began a journey that led him to give up his career of federal service and answer the call of God to full-time ministry. Edgar is married to Christie and they have three beautiful daughters.
