Devotional: Light Guides

December 13 2020
Posted by Pastor Toledo

In the story of our Savior’s birth, the leading of God remains one of the standout features as Jesus broke into the world declaring that He wants to guide His people. The wisemen followed the light of Christ, while the foolish ones of this world (Herod) rejected Him. Those who close their hearts to light stumble around in darkness, while those who follow and receive light have a guide for their hearts. When it comes to being led by God’s light, spiritual dynamics are more important than physical. There’s not always a physical light or guide when it comes to being led by God, but sometimes the spiritual dynamics are fluid, unpredictable, and tailored specifically for God to reach you.

Questions For Meditation

  1. When did the wisemen surrender?
  2. What was the physical manifestation of the wisemen surrender? Why is that so important?
  3. What is God leading you to surrender this week?
  4. What were the wisemen really seeking?
  5. What happens when we don’t actively seek God’s purpose?
  6. What can you do this week to intentionally seek God’s purpose?
