Devotional: Becoming As We Serve Others Into Greatness

March 14 2021
Posted by Pastor Toledo

As God uses and grows as us believers on our journey of becoming, we are called upon to serve God’s people. Jesus valued servants as the greatest of all. In Luke 22, Jesus concludes the discussion with his disciples by encouraging them to serve other people to become their best in their calling. In other words, to serve others into greatness.

Questions For Meditation

  1. Why does Jesus prioritize the role of a servant?
  2. What in our culture is contrarian to this idea of servanthood? What in our culture might support this concept?
  3. What are other biblical examples of people serving others into greatness?
  4. Think about your own journey of becoming. When have others served you into greatness?
  5. Think about the mission and purpose of your life. How can you identify what’s special in others and serve others into greatness?
  6. What is the compounding reward we receive in the Kingdom when we serve others?
