Devotional: Jesus Rebuilds Our Minds

February 19
Posted by Pastor Toledo

As Christians, we are called to demolish strongholds and renew our minds. This means letting go of old thought patterns and habits that are not in line with God’s will and replacing them with God’s truth. It is a process that takes time, effort, and a willingness to surrender our thoughts and attitudes to God.

The Bible tells us that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil. The enemy wants to plant strongholds in our minds and keep us from experiencing the fullness of God’s love and grace. These strongholds can take many forms, such as fear, doubt, pride, anger, or bitterness. They can hold us back from growing in our faith and living a life that honors God.

But we have hope! Through Christ, we have the power to demolish these strongholds and renew our minds. The key is to submit our thoughts and attitudes to God, and allow Him to transform us from the inside out. This means spending time in prayer, seeking God’s truth in His word, and surrendering our will to His.

Questions for Meditation

  1. What strongholds or thought patterns have I allowed to take root in my mind, and how have they been hindering my spiritual growth and relationship with God?
  2. Am I relying on my own strength and understanding, or am I surrendering my thoughts and attitudes to God and allowing Him to transform me from the inside out?
  3. What areas of my life do I need to submit to God’s will and authority in order to tear down the strongholds that are holding me back?
  4. Am I actively seeking God’s truth and renewing my mind through reading and meditating on His word, or am I allowing worldly influences to shape my thinking?
  5. How can I surround myself with a community of believers who will support and encourage me in my journey of demolishing strongholds and renewing my mind?
  6. Am I willing to let go of old habits and thought patterns that are no longer serving me, and embrace the new life that God has planned for me?
