Devotional: Dreamers Know They Are Never Forgotten

June 04 2023
Posted by Pastor Toledo

The story of Joseph serves as a profound reminder that our worth and significance are not determined by our external circumstances. Though forgotten by those around him, Joseph’s faith remained steadfast, and God eventually brought him into a position of honor and influence. Likewise, we can find solace and encouragement in the midst of our own seasons of feeling forgotten. When we feel overlooked, we can take comfort in knowing that God sees us, remembers us, and has not abandoned us. In the stillness of those moments, we have the opportunity to draw near to Him, to seek His presence, and to discover the rich treasures of His love and grace. Though the world may forget us, our Heavenly Father never does. He invites us to trust Him and rest in the assurance that He is working all things together for our good, even in the forgotten places of life.

In times when we feel overlooked or forgotten, let us turn our hearts to the story of Joseph. May his unwavering faith inspire us to trust in God’s faithfulness, even when circumstances seem bleak. As we lean on the unchanging love and power of our Heavenly Father, may we find hope and purpose in the forgotten places, knowing that He is always at work, redeeming and restoring every situation for His glory.

Questions For Meditation

  1. How does Joseph’s experience of being forgotten in prison teach us about the importance of perseverance and resilience in times of loneliness?
  2. Reflecting on Joseph’s story, how can we find solace and strength in our faith during seasons of feeling forgotten or isolated?
  3. In what ways can moments of loneliness and isolation shape our character and deepen our relationship with God? How can we embrace these opportunities for growth?
  4. How did Joseph’s time of loneliness and obscurity in prison prepare him for the significant role he eventually played in the leadership of Egypt? What can we learn from his example about the purpose and significance of our own seasons of isolation?
  5. How can we shift our perspective during times of feeling forgotten or overlooked, viewing them as seasons of preparation for future opportunities and promotions in our lives?
  6. In what ways can our experiences of loneliness and solitude equip us with the necessary qualities and character traits to handle greater responsibility and influence? How can we maximize these seasons of preparation for promotion?
