As we conclude the Raising Samuel series, we come upon perhaps the most significant part of Samuel’s life. His life held many triumphs, times that God helped him overcome obstacles, and portions of Israel’s future that were altered for the better by his impact. But in 1 Samuel 16, Samuel finds David. It was a moment that could have easily been missed. Based on appearances and earthly eyes and prejudices, Samuel could have made the wrong choice with the wrong eyes.

Questions For Meditation

  1. What is an ambassador of Christ? 
  2. Why is it so important to embrace our roles as ambassadors?  
  3. Where are the ones who are called we’re supposed to find?
  4. What is the difference between seeing with God’s eyes and our eyes? 
  5. We are all prone to have prejudices – pre-judgments – that we carry with us. What are some that you carry and judge incorrectly with? How can God help you see with His eyes? 
  6. Do you actively make room for others? How can you grow your heart in this way?
