Devotional: Stand Up

May 15 2023
Posted by Pastor Toledo

Hannah’s story is a testament to the strength of a mother’s love and her unyielding faith. Despite facing difficult circumstances, including infertility and social ridicule, Hannah remained resolute in her determination to become a mother. She cried out to God and made a vow, promising that if He granted her a son, she would dedicate him to His service. Her fervent prayers and unwavering trust in God’s plan eventually led to the birth of Samuel, who went on to become a great prophet and leader in Israel. Hannah’s legacy as a devoted mother and faithful servant of God continues to inspire people today, reminding us of the power of prayer and the importance of trusting in God’s timing.

Questions For Meditation

  1. How can we follow Hannah’s example of unwavering faith and trust in God’s plan, even in difficult circumstances?
  2. What can we learn from Hannah’s prayer life and her willingness to intercede on behalf of her loved ones and her people?
  3. How can we apply Hannah’s vow to dedicate her son to God’s service in our own lives, and what does it mean to give our children to God?
  4. In what ways can we use our own struggles and challenges to deepen our relationship with God and seek His will for our lives?
  5. How can we remain faithful to God’s plan even when it doesn’t align with our own desires or expectations?
  6. How can we draw strength and inspiration from Hannah’s legacy as a devoted mother and faithful servant of God, and use it to guide our own lives?
